Leonard Kimm served as mayor of Blairstown, was town clerk, served on the school board, and was a member of the county board of education. He taught school at Keystone for a number of years. Later he operated a lumberyard and elevator at Keystone and was in business at Elberon and Newhall. He moved to Blairstown in 1910 and was vice-president of the Benton Cbunty State Bank in Blairstown at the time of his death. He was president of the bank for a number of years.

Adele Kimm, Leonard's daughter, has an interesting history of teaching. She attended Wellesley College and studied physical education. She taught the subject for ten years and was appointed associate professor of women at Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan.

Next she studied music at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester and earned a master's degree. She taught music for thirty years at the University of Texas, the University of Iowa, and Ohio State University.

She had an unusual experience when she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in concert consisting of nine women playing the piano. Adele's nickname is "Teek."
